Hearts at Home has been caring for pets in our community since 2012. Our Pet Care Specialists are W-2 employees and part of a local team.

You will enjoy the independence of caring for pets in their own homes, while also having training, clear expectations, and a team behind you when you need support.

Professional pet care takes more than loving animals. It takes reliability, good judgment, attention to detail, communication, and a genuine commitment to the families who trust us.

What You Can Expect From Us

Starting pay: $13.75-$16.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Paid drive time between client visits

Mileage reimbursement

Training and ongoing education

Support from a local management team

What to Know Before You Apply

This is a part-time, supplemental position. Our schedules are based on client needs, so the number of visits and hours available can vary from week to week.

This role may not be the best fit if you need guaranteed weekly hours or income, are looking for full-time employment, need the same schedule every week, or prefer working in one location.

Our busiest times may include weekdays, weekends, mornings, evenings, and holidays, depending on our current client needs.

Where We Serve

We primarily serve Yorktown, Poquoson, and select areas of Newport News and Hampton.

Because our Pet Care Specialists travel between clients’ homes, living within or close to our service area helps reduce drive time and allows us to create more efficient schedules.
